Hey guys. Recently just started to put some $ to my car. Bought recently AIRTEC intercooler. But now I want to buy some exhaust system. It will be cat-back and I don't know which one to choose: Milltek res ver (or maybe non-res) or Mongoose Cat-Back. No 1 Priority: It can't be too loud, I love sound of this engine, so the exhaust could be little bit louder than stock. But I don't want any drone on normal day driving (city, highway, etc). So any advice? ;-)
Hi Chris, If you just want to have a bit more noise, you could also think about cutting the middle section muffler off your exhaust/ make it non res. With welding a pipe in between, it would probably cost you around €50-100 maybe. Saves you lots compared to a cat-back system. You can always buy a cat-back later if the sound isn't what you wish for.
... and if you drive a 5 cylinder ST that would sound like this: This video is of a CLOSED system with the replacement pipe in place. Recorded from the ground about a meter away, between the two exhaust tips.
