Ik zal me eerst even voorstellen, mijn naam is Bas en ik ben in het bezit van een Ford C Max uit 2009. De travelpilot fx is helaas overleden en ik ben opzoek naar een nieuwe radio met navigatie. Mijn oog is gevallen op een android toestel van Xtrons. Bij ieder toestel die in de C Max zou passen staat dat hij geschikt is voor een C Max van 2005 - 2007. Ik heb een mail gestuurd naar de support van Xtron met de vraag of hij geschikt is voor mijn 2009 model. Hierbij kreeg ik het volgende antwoord: "Despite the unit may still fit inside your car, the unit may not be suitable for it like the CANBUS could only support the latest 2007 model. if installed it would not work with your steering wheel controls due to the CANBUS not supporting your car model so we do not recommend trying." Zijn er mensen die hier ervaring mee hebben? Het lijkt mij raar dat de Canbus niet ondersteunt word omdat het een later model betreft en naar mijn weten is Canbus een "standaard"? De S Max van 2006 - 2011 , de Fusion van 2006 - 2011, Kuga van 2008 - 2012 worden echter allemaal wel ondersteund. De Focus echter ook maar van 2005 - 2007. Iemand toevallig een Xtron toestel werkend in hun Focus of C Max nieuwer dan 2008?
Hoi Bas, (Sorry, my Dutch is not that good, I will do it in English) I have an Android radio from Pumpkin in my Focus mk2.5 out of 2009. I have a "canbus" decoder, but I am not using it as the only thing it does in mk2.5 is the reverse gear detection, and that is it. I still able to use steering wheel keys with the radio as it is able to process them without the "canbus" decoder (the are standard resistive keys). I think technically there is not much difference between C Max and Focus, so maybe you also don't need the canbus. Reverse gear detection is done through the camera wire (red wire), you need to put it through the interior of your car anyway. You can get this signal together with power to the camera from reverse light lamp wire. CAN bus indeed uses the same protocol, but data transmitted in the bus may be organized in completely different way, different packet IDs, different bits alignment, etc. So the "canbus" decoder can't read it if it doesn't know the specific details. Thnx for the fast reply Im not going to use the rear camera anyway so if thats the only "con" I can live with it. My gut feeling says that the datasheet only specifies models and makes to make sure that the unit fits in that specific car / make. I just wondered why every Xtron unit only has focus and c max from 2005 - 2007 on the datasheet. Just want to make sure its going to work before I order it so Im looking for people who might know more about this.
